BIO

My very rewarding forty-year association with RSENR's Parks, Recreation and Tourism Program includes both teaching and working with students in an advisory capacity related to their career paths. The courses I've created and/or taught include Resort Marketing and Management (40+ years!), Tourism Planning (first taught in the '80s, picked up again intermittently in 2009), Entrepreneurship in Recreation and Tourism (20+ years), Ski Area Management (20+ years), Introduction to Sustainable Recreation and Tourism (10+ years).

My long-term experience as a professional in Vermont's travel and recreation industry has enabled me to bring the "real world" into the classroom, helping students to understand the relationship between their education and recreation and tourism as functioning businesses in a constantly evolving environment. There is great emphasis on "Green and Sustainable" recreation and tourism. I also serve as an advisor to our Parks, Recreation and Tourism students.
