Dr. Severance came to UVM in 1953 and retired in 1986. He has a long history of service to the University, the School of Business Administration and to the Banking industry. He attended UVM as an undergraduate and joined the faculty in the Department of Economics and Commerce after earning his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin. He was instrumental in the formation of a separate Department of Business Administration, and later building the School of Business Administration. His most recent service to the University has been as a member of the Board of Trustees.
