BIO

Laura's research interests are in community management of natural resources and renewable energy. She has worked on community fisheries management in Fiji, Rhode Island and Kerala; community estuarine management in Oregon; and community forestry in northern New England. She is interested in how community management of natural resources and energy will shift as climate change accelerates. Laura has used mixed methods of research in her projects such as qualitative focus groups and interviews, surveys, and GIS and remote sensing analysis. The aim of all her work is that it be driven and co-owned by community experts.
