BIO

What drew me to Vermont was UVM’s strengths in the fields of Ecological Economics and the Environment. While research in these fields landed me here, it is the people, and the opportunity to grow and develop as an educator that has kept me here. During my time at UVM, I’ve worked as a first-year student advisor and instructed a variety of courses, including Introduction to Ecological Economics (ENVS/NR 141), Integrating Science, Society and Policy (NR 205), Critical Reflection and Dialogue (NR 5), and Race and Culture in Natural Resources (NR 6).

In my teaching I aim to create an engaging classroom by connecting theory with contemporary issues, providing students with a broad range of perspectives, and employing a mix of pedagogical styles. I am particularly interested in interdisciplinary or transdisciplinary themes, where traditional boundaries are less important than the questions we seek to explore.
